DESCRIPTION:Sat. November 30\, 2019 \nInstructor: Liz Udler\, PT \nThe APTEI ANR one-day courses provide physical therapists with advanced knowledge and tools to assess and treat adults post stroke & ABI. ANR Level I is a prerequisite for ANR Level II. Previous NDT/Bobath training and experience with the neurological population are ideal but NOT required. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nReview the pathophysiology of stroke/other acquired brain injuries and identify the most common primary and secondary impairments\, activity limitations\, and participation restrictions\nApply the principles of motor control\, motor learning\, and neuroplasticity to clinical practice\nPerform movement analysis\, select appropriate outcome measures and develop a toolbox of evidence based interventions across the continuum of care\nUse real patient videos and demonstrations to immediately apply theoretical knowledge\nIdentify and address barriers to progress and goal attainment in the neurological population\n\nGENERAL COURSE INFORMATION \nTax Receipts provided on course date / $50.00 is non-refundable / No refunds for cancellations 2 weeks or less before course date \nABOUT the INSTRUCTOR \nLiz Udler graduated from the University of Toronto and has worked in a variety of settings including private clinics\, a rehabilitation hospital\, and community/home care. She primarily works with the neurological population and has been trained in NDT\, Bobath\, acupuncture\, hydrotherapy\, Kinesio Taping\, and functional electrical stimulation. \nShe has been teaching in the Masters of Science in Physical Therapy program for the past six years as well as assisting in the Internationally Educated Physical Therapy Bridging Program. She is passionate about translating the latest research findings into clinical practice and disseminating that knowledge among her peers. In her spare time\, Liz enjoys swimming\, teaching yoga\, and hiking all over Ontario. \n
