DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Dr. Bahram Jam; PT\, FCAMT \n\nMember of the International Federation of Manipulative Therapists\nCredentialed with The McKenzie Institute International\n\n  \nPhysical therapists that have successfully completed the 4 APTEI Advanced Certification programs are eligible to register for the APTEI AMPT written and practical examinations. \nUpon the successful completion of the written & practical examinations\, the Physical Therapist will earn the title Advanced Musculoskeletal Physical Therapist (AMPT) and receive the APTEI Diploma in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy” (Dip. AMPT) \nThe examination process will be similar to all other APTEI courses\, where focus is on maximizing your learning experience in an enjoyable stress-free environment. The primary goal to the APTEI examination procedure is to provide PTs with the opportunity to become more effective and confident clinicians. \nUpon the successful completion of all three (3) components of the APTEI AOPT examination\, physical therapists will receive the Diploma in AMPT. A minimum score of 90% must be achieved in each of the 3 examination sections. \n  \nSection 1: Written Examination (1 hour) \nThe written examination shall consist of fill in the blanks and multiple choice questions. \nThe content is based only on all the 4 course manuals. \ne.g. Name 2 muscles responsible for scapular upward rotation \n\n_______________________________  2.______________________________\n\n  \nWhich of the following feature(s) are characteristic of cervical headaches? \n\nRetro-orbital headaches\nSide-inconsistency (headaches that switch sides)\nSevere vomiting & dizziness\nPhotophobia & phonophobia\nNone of the above\n\n  \nSection 2: Case Studies (1 hour) \nCase studies shall consist of completing 4 different APTEI assessment forms and the suggestion of most evidence-based management strategies for each of the 4 cases. \ne.g. Jenny is an 18 year old soccer player who sprained her ankle last week. \nComplete her subjective and objective findings using the APTEI assessment form. \n  \nSection 3: Practical Examination (1 hour) \nThe practical examination shall consist of the physical evaluation of a mock patient based on the 4 case studies. \nE.g. Demonstrate 2 objective outcome measures most applicable to Jenny \nPerform 2 manual therapy techniques to help Jenny return to playing soccer again
