DESCRIPTION:This is an in-person PRACTICAL course. \nSat. Dec.11 \, 2021 (9am-4pm) \nInstructor: Dr. Bahram Jam\, PT\, FCAMT \n\nMember of the International Federation of Manipulative Therapists\nCredentialed with The McKenzie Institute International\n\n  \nCOURSE OBJECTIVES \nThis course will enable Physical Therapists and all health care providers interested\, to gain a practical knowledge of the possible risk factors leading to the development of acute & persistent low back pain (LBP) \nUpon completion of this course\, the Physical Therapist will not only be more confident in identifying various contributing factors to the development of persistent low back pain but most importantly\, they will be more confident in addressing these various factors including… \n\nReduced physical activity\nReduced variability of movement\nFear of pain and not recovery\nCatastophization\nPerceived injustice\nExcess reliance on health care providers to be “fixed”\n\nThis course will focus on novel exercise prescriptions based on the specific functional impairments of the individual. \nView my video on bending and twisting \nView my video on the postural “correction” \nCRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE \n\nThis program is restricted to Registered Physical Therapists who are licensed to practice in Canada\, or PT students awaiting licensing.\nThere are NO prerequisites for this program\nPrior completion of previous APTEI lumbar courses is optional\, but NOT compulsory\n\n  \nGENERAL COURSE INFORMATION \nTax Receipts provided on course date / $30.00 is non-refundable / No refunds for cancellations 2 weeks or less before course date \n  \nIMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS \n\nAll attendees are required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire\nThere will be a limit of 10 to the class\nAll students will be well spaced apart and if weather allows we may even be outdoors for the lecture section of the course\nA mask will be provided to all students during any close interactions\nHand sanitizers and hand washing stations will be readily available\nFor the practical sections\, each student will be limited to only ONE other partner\, while taking proper safety precautions\nParticipation in the practical sections of the course will be optional\, based on the attendees level of comfort\n\n\nPhysical Therapists who are licensed or who are eligible to be licensed to practice\nAll health care providers interested in effective management and the prevention of persistent LBP and associated disability\nThere are NO prerequisites for this course\n\nRECOMMENDED (OPTIONAL) READINGS \n\nVerwoerd M\, Wittink H\, Maissan F\, de Raaij E\, Smeets RJEM.
