SUMMARY:Intro to Olympic Lifting Technique: Toronto (1/2 day)
DESCRIPTION:Olympic Lifting Technique for rehab of pain-free powerful and balanced full body ROM \nInstructor: Mark Grodski\, PT \n\nWith 25yrs+ across the breadth of the physio scope of practice – from LTC to hospital acute/ICU to high performance athletes – Mark is excited to share how his experiences have yielded a new approach and new opportunities in patient care.\n\n  \nABOUT THIS 1/2 DAY COURSE \nPhysios are well versed in providing single joint\, zero plane (isometric) or single plane exercises to start strengthening. \nWhere I believe our profession lags is in our ability to translate basic strengthening principles and applying them to training simple complex movements (i.e. 2 planes of movement e.g. squat)\, complex movements (i.e. 3 planes e.g. throwing\, jumping\, running) and eventually movement patterns that our patients want to resume with confidence (i.e. from ADLs to leisure to artistic routines to sport specific skills & techniques). \nJoin us for an interactive ½ day to learn: To identify faulty movement patterns which predispose to acute injury and underlie repetitive strain injuries in the lower limb and spine and restore length-tension balance\, to eliminate pain and restore high quality movement. \nThis course wil focus on Olympic Lifting Technique [starting with the squat and hinge movements] for the purpose of assessing multi joint and multi-planar movement in the prehab and rehab of pain-free powerful and balanced full body ROM. \nWe will squat & hinge our way to some good fun!
