COURSE OBJECTIVES
An important opportunity for Physiotherapists & all healthcare providers
Many dentists and physicians see patients with persistent headaches, earaches, jaw pain and facial pain that may be related to the TMJ. Yet many are unaware that Physiotherapists can play an important role in the assessment and management of these conditions.
This creates an important opportunity for Physiotherapists to expand their clinical skills, develop relationships with local dentists and other healthcare professionals, and help patients who may have been struggling with persistent TMJ symptoms.
With the right knowledge and clinical skills, Physiotherapists can provide patients with education, targeted exercises, muscular retraining and gentle mobilizations to help them better understand and manage their condition.
This course will provide Physiotherapists with a practical, hands-on approach to evaluating and treating TMJ pain and dysfunction.
Participants will develop a better understanding of the relevant anatomy and possible contributing factors associated with TMJ disorders, followed by practical assessment techniques and effective treatment strategies.
