Pain acceptance is often wrongfully perceived as being that passive act of giving up and simply “living with pain”.
This is simply not true. Pain Acceptance is not surrendering to pain but it is learning to understand pain, and respectfully communicating with it.
The ability to be present with pain is to acknowledge that it is trying to inform you of something.
Many resist this suggestion by replying,
“But I need to change. I have to become better.”
They may say, “But what about my pains?
I can’t possibly stay like this forever”
Acceptance isn’t giving up – no, not at all
It’s actually giving yourself permission to stop bleeding energy into fear or running away and redirecting it to fuel your positive transition.
Because change, real change… doesn’t come from resistance. It comes from self-acceptance.
You are not a diamond in the rough
You already are- more than enough.
