This paper looked at the data from 6 studies involving over 30,000 individuals. Not surprisingly, they found a link between economic insecurity and physical pain.

It turns out that when people who have insecurities about their future employment and finances, are more likely to sense a lack of control and more likely to experience physical pain.

This is why sometimes no medication, exercise, manual therapy or magic modality could possibly help some individuals in their recovery.

“Overall, the findings show that it physically hurts to be economically insecure.”Chou et al 2016

As I always say, pain is complex!
