So what does the evidence thus far tell us regarding management options for WADs?

  • Patient re-assurance ++
  • Pain Education
  • Maintenance of activity levels, but not too much
  • General exercise program
  • Specific exercise programs focusing on neck and shoulders
  • Encouragement of coping strategies
  • Simple analgesics

 

In reality, here is a quote from this 2015 systematic review,

 

“Currently, therefore, there is no evidence of an effective intervention for acute WADII management.”
