Stabilization Better Than Mobilization?!
This 2003 Swedish study compared the effects of segmental and global stabilizing training with those of manual treatment in patients with sub-acute or chronic low back pain (LBP) .
47 patients were randomized to either a stabilization or manual treatment group and underwent 6-weeks of treatment. The sessions for both groups were once per week for 45 minutes each.
Both groups were educated in basic ergonomics.
Pain, health and functional disability scores were evaluated at the start, after 6 weeks, after 3 months and after 12-months.
