The purpose of this great study was to evaluate the potential benefit of repeated distension arthrography combined with an intensive physiotherapy program of on pain, ROM, and functional outcome in patients with adhesive capsulitis.
The intervention consisted of physiotherapy (including manual therapy & exercise prescription) and distension arthrography, performed 3 times at 1- week intervals, with steroid injections in the glenohumeral joint and the subacromial space.
It should be of great interest that the study positively demonstrated that 2 repeated arthrographic distensions with steroid injection and an intensive physiotherapy intervention significantly improved pain, ROM and function in individuals with adhesive capsulitis.
