There is no shortage of exercises to train proprioception for the purpose of re-injury and fall prevention. Once again, I am biased towards the use of the STARmat while patients are at the clinic.

 

Once they are trained on the STARmat and understand the 12 direction, they are able to easily reproduce the exercises at home.

 

I particularly like to use a black Superband which is anchored around the patient’s waist and pulled in 4 directions as they perform the lunges.
